Ylva & Tarot

IMG_20240624_120247.jpgTarot has been part of my life for more than 50 years.

Over the decades I have spent approximately 90,000 hours reading Tarot, teaching, writing, mentoring, and coaching clients and students. What began as curiosity eventually became a lifelong passion and profession.

My Tarot journey started in 1974 while I was living in Nottingham, England. Some of my friends were reading Tarot, and although I was initially skeptical, I was fascinated by how accurately the cards reflected situations and personalities. My first deck was the classic Rider-Waite Tarot, a deck I still own today.

Like many beginners, I started by drawing cards and reading from the small guidebook that came with the deck. Over time I realized that Tarot was far more than memorizing card meanings. As I explored astrology, numerology, symbolism, personal development, and the wisdom of different spiritual traditions, I began to understand Tarot as a complete symbolic system.

What fascinated me most was how the cards reflected the elements—fire, water, air, earth, and spirit—and how they mirrored the different aspects of life: relationships, work, finances, personal growth, and the soul's journey. Tarot became not only a tool for insight but a map of human experience.

In the early 1990s I opened my metaphysical store, Crystal Wolf, in Umeå, Sweden. Customers regularly asked if I offered Tarot classes. At first I declined, but eventually curiosity won. I taught one class, then another, and another. Since then I have taught Tarot continuously through courses, workshops, lectures, online training programs, and personal mentoring.

In 1993 I published my first Tarot book. Since then I have written 16 books on Tarot and a total of 27 books across various subjects. I have also created several Tarot and oracle decks, including Crystal Wolf Tarot, Erotica Tarot, and Prisma Tarot.

In 1995 I co-founded the Swedish Tarot Association together with a small group of dedicated Tarot enthusiasts. Our goal was to promote professionalism, ethical standards, and quality within the Tarot community. The organization attracted members from across Sweden and helped establish guidelines for professional Tarot readers.

In 2000 I created my first online Tarot course. At the time, lessons were delivered through daily emails. Today my courses are available through modern online learning platforms, allowing students from around the world to study at their own pace.

My Tarot readings are rarely focused on fortune-telling in the traditional sense. Rather than predicting tall dark strangers or lottery wins, I focus on helping people understand themselves, recognize patterns, discover opportunities, and make better decisions. Tarot is a powerful tool for personal development, self-awareness, and transformation.

Throughout the years there have been periods when I stepped away from Tarot, only to find myself returning to it again and again. Every time I return, I discover new layers of wisdom and symbolism. That is one of the reasons I continue to teach it with such enthusiasm.

Today I am best known as a Tarot teacher, author, deck creator, and mentor. My greatest passion is helping others learn how to use Tarot with confidence, depth, and practical understanding.

I believe Tarot is one of the most complete symbolic systems ever created. It transcends religion, culture, nationality, and background. It speaks the universal language of human experience.

Whether you come to me for a reading, a course, or simply to explore Tarot more deeply, my goal is always the same: to inspire you to discover your own wisdom, your own potential, and your own path forward.

I look forward to meeting you.
