How do you think about Tarot? (Part 1)
It feels like somewhere along the way, I’ve missed who you are — and how you think about Tarot.
Maybe I’m too close to it all, still living a little on memories of “ancient times,” when a lot of people knew who I was. Back when I founded the Swedish Tarot Association, wrote the first Swedish book about Tarot, and regularly appeared on TV, radio, and in newspapers.
Maybe you were around back then. Or maybe you just happened to end up here, with absolutely no idea what I want to share about Tarot. And honestly, I think I’ve been pretty bad at explaining that. I’ve just kept going, doing things the way I’ve always done them.
But I’ve changed over the years too (I’ll get to you in a moment).
From my first book, Tarot Step by Step, when I had discovered the foundation of a system based on astrology and numerology, to where I am today. Sixteen books about Tarot and countless courses later. It would be strange if I hadn’t evolved during all that time.
But maybe that doesn’t really come across, because I just keep developing and moving forward without stopping to bring you along with me.
Tarot has several levels. Something like this:
Level 1 = You book a Tarot reading, call a Tarot line, maybe you even buy a Tarot deck.
Level 2 = You start searching online for information about Tarot. You follow different Tarot readers, maybe watch their Card of the Day posts, and perhaps you even buy a book about Tarot.
Level 3 = You attend a workshop or take an online Tarot course. You shuffle the cards and lay out a spread. Sometimes you’re not quite sure what the cards mean, which usually leads to...
Level 4A = You give up. It’s too complicated. Much safer to just book a reading.
Level 4B = You’re fascinated. You sign up for a more extensive course and meet friends who share your interest. You decide you want to work with Tarot, either through a Tarot line or by offering readings on social media.
A lot of people stop at Level 4. It becomes a crossroads — either the interest isn’t strong enough to continue, or you start believing you already know everything there is to know.
Is that you?
I meet all kinds of people. And then I meet those amazing people who just keep going, continuing to expand their knowledge — and, through that knowledge, continuing to develop themselves.
Now, I’m not saying that you have to sign up for a course or training program with me. Although, if you’re interested, it would be pretty smart. 😉
There are plenty of other people who are incredibly good at Tarot.
But... If you’ve realized that Tarot is about more than laying out a spread to find out whether love is coming, whether you’re going to win millions, or whether you should change jobs — then I’m here.
There’s a page here about me and Tarot. Maybe you’ve read it, maybe you haven’t, but it isn’t up to date.
And this isn’t supposed to be about me anyway, because my question was:
How do you think Tarot?
Do you think about it the way I do? As a system. As the Book of Life. Seventy-eight cards filled with symbols that can tell you everything from past lives to the future, what is happening right now — a system where everything is there?
Or are you happy with the Tarot knowledge you already have?
Either way is okay. Everything is perfect exactly as it is right now.
But are you curious about how I think about Tarot?
